Webinar: Vision in Children with Autism Spectrum Disorders: More Than 20/20
By Linda Hodgdon, M.Ed., CCC-SLP & Dr. Lynn Hellerstein
My work is all about using visual strategies… it’s often these kids’ strength.
But that does NOT mean they have perfect vision.
People ask me questions. “How do you know if your child has vision problems?” “How can you test the vision of a child with autism?” “What can be done to help these kids if they have difficulty with reading or writing?”
I don’t know the answers to all those questions.
That’s why I’m really excited to introduce you to Dr. Lynn Hellerstein.
Dr. Hellerstein is a Developmental Optometrist who is nationally known as a pioneer in her specialty in vision therapy and visual processing for children with special needs including those with autism.
In this webinar, I had a chance ask some of those important questions people ask me.
This webinar is for you if you:
- Have a child or work with students with Autism Spectrum Disorders or related special learning needs who could have undiagnosed vision problems (even if they are “visual learners”)
- Wonder how a child can have 20/20 eyesight and still have vision problems? Isn’t that perfect vision?
- Need to learn what the signs of vision problems are that parents & teachers can look for in their children
- Need to understand about the vision process and what is affected when there are vision problems. (There’s more than you may think)
- Plus lots more…
